Three Derby girls were champions at the Sedgwick County Fair – Mari Hoffman, Madeline Hoffman and Kaitlyn Bauer.

Mari was awarded Sheep Reserve Grand Champion and Buymanship Reserve Champion. 

Madeline was Intermediate Grand Champion at clothing construction, fashion revue.

Bauer took Intermediate Showmanship Champion and Champion in rally obedience, level 3 with her dog, Sparky. Sparky was adopted as a 3-year-old from the Humane Society.

The girls and other youths from the Derby 4-H club also brought home 24 purple (top) ribbons, 55 blue ribbons, 22 red and one white from the fair, July 11-14.

Jake Bickhard – electric - 1 red; photography - 1 purple, 2 red.

Emma Busby – foods and nutrition - 1 purple, 1 blue; photography - 2 blue, 1 red.

Danielle DeBruyn – foods and nutrition - 1 blue; visual arts, crafts - 3 blue, 1 white.

Cooper Garner – foods and nutrition - 1 blue; visual arts, crafts - 1 red.

Clement Heck  – foods and nutrition - 1 purple, 5 blue; photography - 1 purple, 3 blue, 1 red; spacetech, robotics - 1 purple, 1 blue; visual arts, crafts - 5 blue, 2 red; and educational display - 1 purple.

Malena Heck – clothing buymanship, 1 blue; foods and nutrition - 3 blue, 3 red; photography - 1 blue, 3 red; visual arts, crafts - 4 blue, 3 red.

Libby Heflin – foods and nutrition - 2 blue; photography - 1 purple, 4 blue, 1 red; dog - qualified for state fair in agility I.

Madeline Hoffman – foods and nutrition, 2 purple, 1 blue; photography - 5 purple, 1 blue; sheep - 2 blue; visual arts, crafts - 1 purple.

Mari Hoffman – foods and nutrition- 1 purple, 1 blue; sheep - 2 blue; visual arts, ceramics - 4 blue.

Madilyn Logue – visual arts, crafts 3 blue, 2 red.

Caleb Perkins – foods and nutrition - 1 blue; space tech, rocketry - 1 blue; educational display - 1 purple.

Eric Sprecker – geology - 1 purple; photography - 2 purple, 2 blue; educational display - 1 purple.

Skyler Sprecker: demonstration - 1 purple; electric - 1 purple; geology - 1 purple.

Tyler Zachare: meat goats - 1 red.
