MULVANE – More than 4,000 community surveys were sent out this past week in preparation for the Comprehensive Development Plan process.
“We sent out 4,000 direct mail pieces, and 600 emails,” said Raymond Fleming, building and zoning administrator. “We want to get an accurate picture of local residents’ views and opinions.”
The confidential survey seeks information on attitudes and community development desires, as well as basic household data.
The 10-year Comprehensive Plan will offer guidelines for decision-making on land use, community facilities, transportation systems, and other issues of concern.
“The plan will provide information on future development in the Mulvane planning area and recommend plans and policies to the city council,” said Kent Hixson, city administrator.
The questionnaires are due back to Fleming by July 30.
“You can save the document in Word and email it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org or print it off and fax it to city hall at 777-4081 or drop it off or mail it to the city office at 211 N. Second Ave.,” Fleming said. “We hope people will accept the civic responsibility to complete and return the questionnaires.”
