An organization which is gaining ground nationally is seeking photographers in the area for its Photos for Soldiers program.
Photos for Soldiers provides a free photo session for deploying service members of all branches and their families, according to former Derby resident Mindy Saindon King, who is working with the organization as a participating photographer in Fort Riley. King’s husband is stationed at Fort Riley.
“In addition to the photo session, the family receives a CD with all the edited pictures and the service member receives a care package with some of the prints,” King said. “There are a number of participating photographers nationwide and we are growing every day.”
In addition to seeking local photographers to participate, King said she is working to get information out to military personnel in the McConnell Air Force Base area.
