Derby residents can begin advance voting at Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Derby on Thursday, Aug. 2.
The local advance voting polls are open at the church from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, and Friday, Aug. 3. On Saturday, Aug. 4, the polls at the church are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Advance voting will also be held through Aug. 3 at the Sedgwick County Election Office, 510 N. Main, Suite 101 in Wichita.
On primary day, Tuesday, Aug. 7, Derby voters will cast their ballots from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the normal polling places – Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Pleasantview Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church.
Some things will be different for this election when local voters report to a different polling place. Sedgwick County Election Officer Tabitha Lehman said that due to redistricting, some voters have new polling places. Information has already gone out to the affected voters, she said.
Those voters will note their ballots may seem different. Redistricting has moved some state races to new district numbers and locations.
Anyone with questions on their district or polling place should go to www.sedgwickcounty.org/elections. Click on “VoterView” Polling Place Locator on the right side of the screen.
Voters are also now required to have a photo ID. For additional information, go to www.GotVoterID.com.
