Marion Robert Sumner

DERBY – Marion Robert Sumner, age 87, retired Boeing Company employee, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012. Visitation will be held 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, with family greeting friends 5-7 p.m.; a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, both at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara Sumner; brothers, Gerald and John; and sister, May Brisbin.

Survivors include wife, Jean; daughters, Janis (David) Markel of Clearwater, and Sue (Michael) Ullenius of Wichita; stepdaughters, Kim Young of Wichita, and Michele (Ignacio) Castro of Canajoharie, N.Y.; grandchildren, Stacey, Megan, Allison, Brooke, Heather, Emily, Lacey and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Lili, Conner and Dez.
